Another senior MDC official has had his family attacked by marauding ZANU PF thugs. The rural home of the MDC national organising secretary, MP Elias Mudzuri, was attacked and property looted by a group of armed Zanu PF men in military uniform in Zaka, Masvingo.
Mudzuri is the former Mayor of Harare. He was illegally removed from his position by Zanu PF.

The MDC says that his 80 year-old father was badly injured during the attack while two relatives, including Hon. Mudzuri's young brother, were shot in the leg and are now in hospital. It’s reported that the family members were attacked at 4am on Tuesday.

This is not the first time that families of “opponents” have been targeted. National Constitutional Assembly chairman Dr Lovemore Madhuku, MDC spokesperson Nelson Chamisa and Mbare MP Piniel Denga have had their rural homes attacked and relatives beaten up by armed Zanu PF militia. In at least three other cases, wives of MDC officials have been brutally murdered and the six year old son of one official was burnt to death.
